watching the gray sky that's acting like a good guy

It's the last day of Spring Break, and I'm pretty happy about how the week went. I mean, my teeth kind of hurt a lot, but I did a lot of stuff. My mom even complained about how I'm never at home, which isn't true. I'm home for the majority of the time, I just always go out at night or something.

I went to see Beauty and the Beast with most of the pit band on Wednesday. We went out to Nick's first and it was a pleasant time. Ryley didn't show up until our food showed up, and Lindsay didn't know that we were having dinner together so she met up with us when we were done eating. We all took the train downtown, and at Maxbell Theatre I ran into Katie when I was leaving the washroom, except I hadn't finished her birthday card yet (it was her birthday that day). Then I ran into her grandma, who was really sweet and we chatted until Katie came back. We talked about how the parking lot was full. After, I ran into Ms. Fehres, which was weird. We headed to the actual theatre, and I was talking to Lindsay, and ran right into a little girl because, well, I was talking to Lindsay so I wasn't watching in front of me, especially not downwards. I'm not sure if her mom yelled at me or at the little girl, but I'm guessing that she was yelling at me. I really didn't mean it! That's the second time I ran into someone when I was talking to Lindsay. I'm going to have to be on alert for little kids for the rest of my life, seriously. I felt really bad about it. The girl started crying and everything.

The show itself was amazing. The effects and the way they did everything was so good, except when you've done the show itself, you find yourself thinking about how it would've been better if they did it the way you did it instead. I thought a lot like that during the whole show. I really liked the way our school put on the show.

We made a whole new song on Thursday at band practice, which was wicked. I really like that song, it works well altogether. We worked for like two hours before finally losing it and getting distracted. After that I headed to Justine's house, and Kim, Justine, and I watched Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella to kick off our Disney movie night. After that, Bonnie came and we had pizza and watched Pocahontas. In the middle of Pocahontas, Alyssa #1 showed up. We watched Everything is Illuminated, which isn't a Disney movie, but my sister had rented it and wanted it to be watched by someone. It was good, it was funny, and I'm trying to read the book again because the first time it was kind of complicated, and I think now I'll understand it. Alyssa #2 and Kaitlyn showed up near the end of the movie. We had left Kaitlyn a lot of messages. Bonnie's imitating Kim was the greatest. "Tee hee hee!"

Friday was Kevin's game/camping out night. It was just Gavin, Megan, Kevin and I for the first couple hours. We played Super Smash Bros Brawl and I got owned. Kevin told us after that you could smoke Pocky, so we went out to his backyard with a broken lighter and tried, but the lighter didn't work so Kevin got us two boxes of matches. Smoking the Pocky didn't really work, but it was fun lighting stuff on fire. I tried to climb onto Kevin's roof, with Gavin's help, but after it got too scary and there wasn't anything to hold on to, so we gave up on that. We headed back inside because it was cold, and Megan and Gavin taught us how to play Killer Bunnies, which is a really fun game. While we were playing, Kevin's other friends finally showed up. They pitched up their tent in the back, and it was way too small for all of them, but later we learned that it was actually for their beer. We taught some of his friends how to play Killer Bunnies, and had the slowest game ever. Especially when I wiped everyone's bunnies out with the black hole. We walked to the 7-11 to get fudgsicles, and then watched Hot Fuzz.

Yesterday I worked, and it has gotten pretty busy at Golf Town. I'm getting golf lessons, starting next week. Nic accidentally rang someone's $3000 purchase twice, so that messed up things a lot. Halfway through the day, I got a text from Gavin saying that he was having a hot tub party. Cailey, Megan, Cole, and I played fooseball. Cole and I got owned the first time, but the second time we had a major comeback and actually won the game. We then played table hockey, which was ridiculous. Then Kevin and Alex, one of his friends from yesterday, showed up and played pool, so Cailey, Megan, and I played Golf (the card game). Then we all played Bullshit, and then played President, where Megan was scum for most of the time. We finally went into the hot tub, which was fun. Kevin and Cole are really .. wow. We stayed in the tub for pretty much one and a half hours, until Alex, Cailey, and Megan decided to go for a run .. just like that. When they got back they said that they ended up not running because their feet hurt too much. After all of us left the hot tub, Megan and Alex stayed in, and they just sat there talking ... so that was interesting. I had to leave, but apparently they stayed in the hot tub together for a long time after.

I had another band practice today, we made up two new songs and now I have a demo tape. Cool.

guess i'm in love with the fucked up kid

I went out laser tagging yesterday with so many people I would normally not hang out with.  They're just not the sort of people I would hang out with.  But Aidan was  there, and Henry was there, and a couple other people I knew so it was alright.  While we were waiting for the first game to start, we played a bunch of the arcade games.  There was this weird game where you controlled a paddle that could spin and move around, and you tried to get the ball into the other person's goal by beating their set of paddles.  I lost.  Then there was this Percussion Master game, which I figured I would totally own Aidan at because, well, I'm a percussionist.  I got a C+ after "drumming" to "Hit Me Baby One More Time".  It was ridiculous.  But I still whooped Aidan.  We got to play three matches, and for the last one, Henry, Aidan, and I each grabbed a drum stick and each were in charge of one drum.  It was really fun, and we got the best score that way.  After that we played a gun game, and we were awesome at three of the missions, but failed the other three.  The helicopters were so hard to shoot down!  But anyways.

After that we actually started playing laser tag.  Aidan, Henry, Hannah and I agreed to be on a team.  We were Starfox, and our code names were Fox, Frog, Falcon, and Falco, respectively.  Except when we got into the briefing room, the marshall told us that it was a solo game, and if she saw anyone teaming up, she'd separate them.  We teamed up anyways, for the first part but then we all got separated and I got owned.  Laser tag just isn't my thing, I guess.  I can never aim correctly!

After two games of getting owned, we all went to Chinook for lunch.  We ate too much and then Henry and Hannah left to go around, so Aidan and I left.  The ride home on the c-train felt so much longer, but he said that it felt really short.  I caught the bus and found that my neighbour was taking it home too, and we all walked home together.  It was like elementary school all over again.

if it can be broke than it can be fixed

Wow. Kate's party was ... interesting. It's funny watching everyone be drunk while you're sober. Especially when there are people like Brittany, who "wasn't drunk", but laughed hysterically at everything that's happening. Brittany was very entertaining to watch. Robyn was acting extremely strange, even though she only had 3 .. or 4 .. or 5 coolers? And Kate was crying even though she said that she was fine, which was extremely weird. And Carmen's just funny. I hung out with Aidan for pretty much the whole night, we played fooseball with Elliot and Harper, and we hung around with Lindsay until she left, and after that we watched people play Twister and we danced with our really weird, unheard-of moves. Shauna found a old box of hats, and so pretty soon after that, everyone was wearing a funny hat. I got acquainted with some cool people, like Marianne, and hung out a lot more with people I didn't know very well, like Brittany! At one point we were both sitting on a sofa chair, and people were hula hooping extremely, extremely close, and Brittany was freaking out the whole time because it seemed so close to her! Ahh so yeah, I'm not a big fan of massive parties, but this one was okay. Except I was sick and I had a headache by the end of the night. It was still interesting.

we used to dream about girls who played guitar

All of this black ink is staining my hands.
None of the maps I've drawn work,
I don't know where I am.
These lines aren't straight enough,

they bend in the wrong directions

and I'm never where I want to be.

My fingerprints are smudging the mirror.
The glass is all cracked,
I can't see who I am.
These lights aren't bright enough,

they leave too many shadows
and I'm never what I want to be.

i saw you singing with your hands, making shapes i don't understand

The concert last night was so beautiful. Kris Ellestad was extremely funny, with his water bottle and his spandex. The Norwegian dancing at the end was a nice touch. November Steppes was beautiful, although I wish he'd play The Secret too, but you can't always get what you want. After that, The Neighbourhood Council played, and their setup was really cool, and the music was loud and just washed me up from the inside. You couldn't help but love it. It was unfortunate that everyone moved in front of us, but somehow I managed to get to the front anyways, it was weird. But anyways. All of their sound combined together was just great, it's amazing how they are all only a couple years older than me too. The Ostrich played last, and Megan and Mikki had to leave right at the beginning of their set and a whole bunch of tall people moved in front of me and Leslie, where Mikki and Megan were standing before. But anyways. The Ostrich had a cool effect with a tiny television and an antenna, and every time the keyboardist moved waved his hand around the antenna, it make this really weird electronic sound, and they used it for most of their songs, and it was really fun to dance to because all of their songs were really fun.

And it's times like these I wish I was my sister. She introduced me to a bunch of her friends, who of course commented on how alike we look, and they all said something about the poster, which was nice. And she introduced me to Raphaelle, from The Neighbourhood Council, and she was really funny. She thought that our other sister would be really short, when that is definitely not the case.

When we got home, my sister and I stayed up and watched SNL for a while, and it was pretty nice. Although I sounded like an idiot the whole time, and my sister couldn't help but laugh.
