sick

I remember a time when I used to have to refrain from blogging more than once a day. Now I'm struggling to blog once a month. But this is the time when I need to remember what's going on! This is the prime of my life ... I think. It feels like it should be. Nobody really uses Blogger, though. Maybe I need an audience because really, even though I'm just so super self conscious, sometimes I just like attention. I'm pretty hypocritical. I think about these things in my mind, about the kind of people annoy me and then I realize that these people are me, from a previous time. I'm growing up and away, and I don't know how I feel about this. I miss when I used to have thoughts just flowing through my mind all the time. Now I'm just lazy. Lazy and tired. I told myself that I'd go to bed at 10:30 tonight because I always stay up way too late to be alright for school the next day, but it never happens. Well I am going to write this and then go to bed.

I'm just going to do a short recap of what's been going on: I went to Final Fantasy last night, I was a little skeptical about going because I already saw him in June and I'm sick and I'm really, really busy this week but then the thought that it was FINAL FANTASY overruled. And thank goodness, he was absolutely amazing. He's the kind of guy who you need to stare at, because he is so beautiful, and because his sound is so beautiful, and the fact that he's doing a million and one things at once up on that stage just leaves you in so much awe. I can't wait for his new album, it is going to be so great. All of his songs are fantastic. Umm besides that I went to the clinic today to get diagnosed with a bad cold, which is good because at least it's only a bad cold, but bad because it's a bad cold. Sometimes I think colds are the worst because all you can do really is wait it out while you have a stuffy nose and a sore throat. And that's just the worst because it is so freaking uncomfortable. I didn't go to school today. I just sat at my desk with my blanket and studied, which is good because I actually think I got a lot more done than if I went to my classes. Except hopefully I'm not too far behind in math. Things I did today: one chapter for archaeology, calculus review, most of my linear algebra questions, and just the slightest bit of studying for anthropology. Then I called it a day and watched all of my TV shows. I'm hoping that this one day of rest was good for me, seeing as I've been busy every single other day and my weekends aren't really weekends anymore .. well they are but I'm not at home and I'm still super busy and stressed. Golf is sucking right now. Well the people aren't but my game is. It's really frustrating. I need to get better or I'm just going to be really depressed. Um but yeah I just want to get better so that I at least do not feel like uttermost crap in Idaho, and I don't cause every single one of my teammates to catch my cold. We're sharing a bus for eight hours, you know.

So yeah .. 10:36. I guess I'll go to bed. The things on my to-do list feel like they are never getting checked off. Like if I'm always doing work but it's never going away. I guess I just got to keep my head down and grind it out. I need to work hard. I need to earn this.

I think life is good?

let's hug it out

I really enjoy being on the golf team. This weekend was really fun, despite the fact that I am still playing kinda shitty and my throat feels like it's swollen to twice its size. It is painful. But anyways .. one of the guys' birthdays was on Saturday, so after our round we got ready and headed out first to a pub called Mojo's (we were in Lethbridge, by the way) to watch the preseason hockey game. Kenny just kept getting shot after shot after shot. We estimated that he drank probably fifteen. Tim got Katie and me (since we are rookies) "initiation shots" that tasted like candy. He then bought us each another drink. Mine was a double vodka with lime .. which was pretty good. That plus the shot plus a previous shot beforehand made me kind of tipsy. After we paid our massive bill and Kenny puked on the ground, Lauren, Blake, Katie, Ashley, and I went to the McDonald's drive-thru to get some food. We ended up sitting on a bench in the lobby chowing down. Blake or Ashley found a random bag of chips in a bed of flowers so we ate some of those. After the McFlurries, cheeseburgers, and fries were finished, we went to the club in our hotel. It was such a blast .. we were dancing, and a couple of the guys bought us two more shots (one was pretty gross with cinnamon in it). Tim kept yelling at me that I was the shit. Katie and I headed back to the hotel at one in the morning, I downed five glasses of water, and woke up fine. My game was slightly better but I really need to improve. Honestly. Katie and I got driven home by Blake with Kenny, and they kept picking up on random parts of our conversations, which were already really random. It was a blast.

So yeah .. that plus the fact that the girls think the things I say are hilarious make me like them a lot. Hopefully I go to Idaho next weekend because it's so much fun being around them.

while you wait for the others

I guess now that I'm eighteen, I'm discovering that I'm not the biggest fan of clubs, or of drinking. It is probably because of the fact that I am Asian, therefore cheap. And clubs and drinks are expensive. But anyways. Lots of my friends are finding it weird that I didn't get drunk on my birthday, and that I have not gotten drunk ever, but maybe it's nicer this way. I am much more introverted than I thought.

Also, I met a cute guy yesterday, who kept smiling and saying hi to me at golf tryouts. And then, just out of chance, he was sitting in my computer science lecture all alone. I was so choked when we realized that he was supposed to be in the room next door; I didn't even get to know his name!

But, I'm keeping my hopes up. We're in neighboring lecture rooms on Fridays at the least. And hopefully he made the golf team as well! A nice engineer-golfer-boy who wears skinny pants and has a really great smile and is super nice .. how often does that come along?

note to self

  1. "I want a piece of chicken with a lot of barbecue sauce. Oh wait, I'm wearing white." I then wore a paper napkin around my neck and covered my shorts with the table cloth. I'm just dripping with class.
  2. Alana said that she was going to get a glass of pop, so I asked for one as well. She returned with an empty glass.
  3. When my name was announced for winning second low gross in my flight, they pronounced my name "Alyssa Set-o". When they were taking a picture of us, they were trying to get us to stand closer and Alana yelled, "c'mon, squish in there Alyssa!" It took me a while to realize she was talking to me.
  4. There was a paper trimmer in the middle of all of the prizes on the table, and immediately I knew I wanted that to be my prize. When they finally got around to the draw prize, the second girl who went up took the paper trimmer. I was the third. My friends laughed so hard at me. When the girl realized I actually wanted the paper trimmer, she traded her prize for mine, so I got the paper trimmer. "I am going to trim SO much paper with this!" Then a lady came up and told me that it wasn't actually a prize; somebody owned it and it was about five or six years old. So I had to give back the paper trimmer and get a new prize.
  5. Kristina picked a prize bag with a bag of cement and a sleeve of shitty balls. We thought that it was a joke prize so we opened the bag of cement ... to find a block of instant drying cement in there.
Cities was a lot of fun this year. I can be such an idiot most of the time.

88-92-87-84

It's so weird when it's summer, it's like if I shelve one part of myself away and pull out another side of me. Everyone from school disappears, and I'm super chums with everyone I golf with. I love seeing my golf friends, because we only get two months of tournaments to hang out with each other for an hour, two hours tops - unless we get a tee time together. Which is pretty rare. Which makes it more fun, because it's not like we know each other inside out; it's like if every time we hang out, there's an explosion of new things that happened, new golf stories, new tidbits about each other that we never knew before.

Yesterday at the banquet I sat with Mandy, Kylie, Janelle, Casara, and Jen. It was so funny; Mandy is so eccentric sometimes. I had some amusing conversations and moments; waiting for our pasta was an adventure on its own. Describing our pre-swing routines was also another moment that made me feel like dying of laughter.

Today was pretty amazing because I got to play with Ali - something that is quite rare. We are such a gong show when we're together; sometimes it's hard to stay serious because I know that if I look at her I'll laugh. But it definitely made the mood of the game today so much lighter; we joked around about everything so everything wasn't such a big deal. I think that helped my game, because I played pretty well except for one hole. And we didn't come in dead last!

So I'm not going to nationals, which was extremely upsetting and disappointing when my dad first told me about it. I mean, it was going to be the highlight of my summer - travelling to the other side of the country to play on a beautiful course, all by myself. But then I thought about it a bit more. It's expensive; it would be scary going all by myself; I honestly don't think I am a good enough golfer to go out there and actually be proud of my scores. So although I really, really wanted to do this, I'm not anymore. But it'll be okay, because then I get to hang out with the majority of my golf friends who aren't going to nationals, and we'll have a lot of fun. I still get to go to Vancouver with my family. I'll get to maybe hang out with some of my school friends.

And maybe I can ask for the Macbook now!

what makes you think it's going to last

All my feelings have seemed to dry up, and all that is left is an empty resevoir.  All of the hurt is gone, I guess.  Or it occurs in sharp pangs, lasting only minutes before I forget all about it.  I'm happy!  I only find distaste in English, when she piles not one, but two projects to be done for the unit we are about to do.  There's not too long until grad.  Not long until this stress will all be gone, washed away for the summer and forgotten until the fall.

Here's to looking ahead!  My goals for the upcoming months:
1) Start running every day (after the snow has melted).  2) Try to keep this 90 in English (although that seems like it won't happen).  3) Own my chem AP exam (and then it will be all over!).  4)  Get my math mark above 90.  5) Practice driving/get better at it.  6) Qualify for nationals (golf in New Brunswick = amazing).

we're all just sleeping around

My feet hurt. I like spending time at the golf course, despite the fact that we really don't do much there at all. Today I played interclub at Country Hills, and I played a decent 86. I had lunch with all of the other girls and won low net. I also got a free headcover for playing interclub! After interclub, Christie and I played another nine holes with some random people, and it was fun. I couldn't stop talking to her. We stopped taking practice swings and we'd finish conversations between shots. I shot exactly what I had shot on that nine in the morning. We then hung around the clubhouse for another hour. Doing what, I don't really know. We just walked around everywhere. But it was fun.

Last night, after band practice, I hung out with Gavin. We watched some of the women's diving, and then went to the mall to look at phones. He is so cute. When we were going into the mall, we went through Designer Depot, and he complained that they would think that he was whipped. And then he said that he was whipping me, so I refused to hold his hand and we walked on separate sides of the hall. While we were walking, he got closer and closer until he gave me a hug and I finally grabbed his hand. After we went back to his house and watched Olympic volleyball. I hate leaving him. He is going to Cirque Du Soleil tonight and I'm going to Mikalina's, and although I am excited to see Mikki and Cailey tonight, I still want to be with him right now.

8.19.2008

you become everything you said you never would be

Good news for today, gang.

Today I played in the championship group with Jen and Rosie, although I really shouldn't have, because apparently I succumb to pressure. However, I still shot an 86, which is exactly what I should've shot with my handicap, so I ended up ten under par for both days. Guess what, guys? I won the overall low net! I'm Calgary's 2008 low net champion! I get a massive trophy with my name engraved in it given to my club for the year, and a small keeper trophy. I got $75, which was apparently the most anyone got in the tournament, and everyone there shook my hand or gave me a high five. All of my friends were proud of me! I am so extremely happy about this.

After the banquet, I got to hang out with Gavin, which really made today the best day. We made up for so much that we missed the passed two weeks! We watched the Olympics together, had dinner with his family, played ping pong, and then watched more Olympics. Honestly .. so much love for him.

8.18.2008

stay awake to break the habit

Today I got to play with Rosie and Kristina. I was extremely stressed before I went to play - I had got there a bit late so I had to rush on the driving range - and even Kristina's dad noticed. There were no walkers allowed so my dad didn't watch me play. I had a decent front, a 40, so I was feeling pretty good about the round.

On the back nine, I shot three birdies and scored even par. I finished the last hole with a hard par. I didn't even hit the green! But Kristina and I determined that you could read the greens a million times better by lying on the green, so we did that and I sunk my par putt from twelve feet away. My dad got to see that hole. I scored a total of 76. I've never played a better round. I am pretty sure I am tied for second place!

And on top of all of that, Gavin comes home today. I woke up this morning with that thought in mind, it made me feel all nervous and excited. The adrenaline was just pumping through me all morning, I was so shaky when I was putting! It has been such a good day, it can't go down from here.

i realized how i need you

Yesterday was a good day. I played my practice round at McCall Lake with Jen and Kristina. The tees were like rough, and the greens were like fairways, but I had a really fun time and I still shot well despite the fact that none of us were really paying attention. We took so many pictures, it was ridiculous. I can't wait until Monday, when Kristina and I play together, and when Gavin comes back so I can finally talk to him in person.

8.13.2008

every moment spent with you is a moment i treasure

Premium.

Being a walking scorer was pretty fun, because the ladies were pretty good at golfing, and they were nice. And the leader tipped us $10 each at the end! And we got ball markers and a Pro V1 ball each. I hung out with Laura and Shannon, and we had lunch after. I laugh so hard when I'm around them. After that, we went to the driving range and I did not hit any ball very well. So then I went to my golf lesson, and found out what I was doing wrong, and suddenly I'm hitting twenty yards longer and every thing's feeling better. So what do you know?

The days have been passing by pretty quickly, soon you'll be back and my life will be pretty darn perfect.

8.12.2008

you make me wish for a more dangerous life

I had the most amazing foursome ever today. I didn't exactly play well, but I got to play with Brecken, Ali, and Kristina. I haven't played with any of them for a year or two, and so we had a lot of fun. I probably stopped focusing on golf, but it was worth it. We talked, and laughed, and were ridiculous. It was the easiest group to fit into, even though I was sucking, it didn't matter; I was with friends and we were enjoying ourselves.

I've been watching the Olympics with my family for pretty much the entire day. The finals for men's team gymnastics is playing again, and it is pretty much our favorite event to watch so far. China owns!

8.09.2008

does it really matter why i love you

Last night I dreamed that we were at a party, and we were doing everything we always did. Our conversations were ones we would have, our actions, our decisions. Everything seemed like you were there, until I woke up and you weren't.

It was weird. Even though you were with me, it felt like I was watching everything from afar. I didn't get to experience your touch, or your warmth, I just observed and tried to remember how it felt.

I think my brain misses you.

Other than while I'm sleeping, I've been actually pretty busy. On Thursday, the day Gavin left, I played golf in the morning and then went to Brittany's in the evening for a bonfire. It was really fun. We spent a long time trying to start the fire, and just being around Brittany is an amazing environment. Being with Rae and Elliot was ridiculously fun, too.

I golfed with my friend on Friday, and I played my best round. It definitely could've been better, but I'm not complaining. My swing felt so much better. We were still golfing after the sun had set, so the last hole was so hard to play, because we could barely see anything.

I worked today, and it was alright. There's a new contest where the person who can get the most people signed up for Leaderboard wins a $100 gift certificate to any store or mall they want. And that is a pretty great prize. I want it, but the other girl I worked with today was super good at getting people to sign up, and completely destroyed me today. I think I'll go for the second prize, the draw for the $50 gift certificate.

8.07.2008

and tell us how to feel inside

I stayed up until three last night talking to Gavin because he left this morning to go sailing with his family. We had a good talk, which got a little scary for me, but he reassured me and I was just being paranoid, and really, there's nothing to be worried about. We are safe.

I am extremely exhausted now. I thought that I wasn't playing golf this morning, so it would be okay for me to stay up late, but then my dad woke me and told me I had to go, which made me really cranky. I had a terrible front nine, but then the girl I played with left to go practice and I played with Laura and Shannon. They are so absolutely hilarious. At one point, Laura complained that the ball wasn't going to go anywhere because of the wind, and when she swung, she hit the ground way before the ball and completely missed the ball. It was the best moment of the round. It was really hot and we all got really tired, and now I'm glad that I'm not golfing. Hopefully later I'm going to Brittany's house, which will be a fun time!

8.01.2008

i love you more

I love golf so much more this year! Honestly, it feels like there's been such a difference from last year, just from getting more serious about it and joining a club. Being able to go to the driving range whenever, or book a round of golf and just head out a couple hours later. Having friends to play with and being able to relax and have fun.

So far this year, my handicap has gone from 25.4 to 16.3. I've broken 100 and 90. I've won a tournament and have come close to winning another. I'm playing in the tour championship. Yesterday I shot a career-best score: 86. And I want to go lower.

i want you to stay with me

It's been a good week. Provincials were a blast. I headed out with Casara and her mom on Monday, and we drove up to Rocky Mountain House. That day we played a practice round, and I didn't play very well that day, although it was probably because we used power carts, and now I realize that I suck when I ride in a power cart. I don't know why, but I do. Anyways. That night we went to Boston Pizza for dinner, and then we were so tired we just went back to our room and went to sleep.

The next day we woke early to get to the golf course on time. My tee time was half an hour later than Casara's, so I spent a lot of time practicing. I played with two younger girls I played with before; they're really nice. That day I played really well, and shot a 90, which felt awesome because it was the lowest score I had ever shot (I shot a 90 before). We went downtown to check it out and went shopping at a couple places for a bathing suit for Casara. At the hotel, we called up Ali and Christie to hang out, and we hung out in Christie's room with Christie, Ali, and Jen, watching TV and just talking for about two or three hours. We went to the only Chinese restaurant in town, and Casara had three bowls of jello and a bowl of icecream. It was funny.

We had to wake up earlier the next day because Casara had the earliest tee time of the day. I shot a 102, and didn't play as well because my pitching was off, and it was frustrating and it sucked because I knew I could play better, and it just wasn't working. The last five holes were a lot better for me, though. Casara and I went to the putting green and had a mini round. I lost and I owe her a golf ball. I owed her a golf ball from before when we bet what score a girl would shoot after shooting a 77 the first day (she shot a 90; I thought she'd shoot a 86 and Casara thought she'd shoot a 89). After we finished playing, Christie, Casara and I went to the pool and had a blast on the waterslide. It was like if we were little kids. We found out that if we blocked the water in the slide with our bodies, after we left all the water go you could go so much faster. We climbed up the waterslide and sat in there, and stayed at the pool for a couple hours before finally going out for dinner at Boston Pizza with Ali. At the restaurant, six other girls from the tournament that we knew were there, so we joined them. We made a bet how long the food would take to come, and Christie won three golf balls. There was a women's fitness contest on TV and the women looked disgustingly fit. And they wore weird costumes. We tried to take good pictures of Ali because she hates taking pictures.

On Thursday, I had one of the earlier tee times. My dad drove up to watch me play. It rained for the first four holes, but I was playing really well. On the fifth hole I messed up and shot a ten, which sucked but I played a really well back nine and ended up shooting a 93. It almost was disappointing, because without that ten I would have broken ninety. We went to the pool after the round again for two hours. Casara and I spiked a beach ball at each other, and I am actually scared of her because she spikes so hard. We went to Boston Pizza again for dinner with Christie and her dad.

I had a pretty sore shoulder from the waterslide, and my back muscle on my right side was hurting that night, and when I woke up Friday morning it was killing me. My tee time was at the same time so we had to wake up early again. I got ten minutes on the driving range before heading up to play. I got to play with Kristen Lee, who I had played with a long time ago but never had to chance to until now. We played with another girl, but she withdrew halfway through. My dad surprised me and came up again. My front nine was brilliant, despite all the pain I was in. I was making all my putts and I was doing really well! The back wasn't as great, but it was still pretty good. I shot a 88, my personal best and it was an amazing feeling. The walking scorer for our group was a guy my age, and he was really cool to talk to. He was really nice too. After we finished, we had to wait around for all of the groups to come so they could do final prizes and announce teams. I won low accumulated net for my flight, so I bought a new headcover (it's a donkey). I didn't make any teams, which was a bit disappointing, but there were a lot of girls my age who were playing really well, and I played my best, so I guess it's alright. I just with I could go to Montana with Ali and Christie, because this trip was such a blast.

I got a ride with Jen, and slept until Red Deer. I was so anxious to get home to see Gavin that the ride felt like it went on forever. When I got home, my AP results were on the counter. I got a 4! Gavin picked me up at my house, and the first thing he said when I opened the door was, "my heart beat faster just standing here."

We hung out at his house with Alex and Kevin. They were trying to build a soapbox out of a wagon, and one of the wheels broke so Alex was melting the plastic back. When we finally got it together, Gavin's dad took off the wheel so it was all for nothing. We managed to get the wagon down the road by leaning onto one side. Gavin pulled me in the wagon to the dump. After that, we went into his house and played pool, ping pong, and fooseball. We were watching Ocean's Eleven on TV until I had to leave, and everyone was tired so we all left at the same time. Gavin drove me home, and ... those last twenty minutes were amazing.

7.07.2008

i know that i'm yours and you will be mine

I leave in approximately an hour and fifty minutes, to head off to Rocky Mountain House to play provincials. I'm so excited, this is the tournament I want to do well in. I want to qualify for a team, and play well, and just not embarrass myself. It's already going to be better than last year; this year I've practiced and I think I'm ready.

In fact, Gavin and I went out to the golf course yesterday so I could get practice in. I am so glad we got to hang out. We headed out there, and the first few holes I did not play very well, but I figured out why so the last holes were really easy. I almost got a hole in one! We kissed in the rain, as lightning and thunder roared over us, while waiting for the group in front of us to be out of hitting distance. It started raining pretty hard, and the lightning started getting pretty close, but we managed to finish playing nine holes.

After golf, we went to his house to watch Extreme Days, his favorite movie of all time. I liked it, but I liked being with him even more. After the movie ended, we just sat there on his couch. At one point, we stared into each other's eyes, nose to nose, and he looked so serious I was almost scared for a moment, like if something was wrong, or if something bad was going to happen. We were silent for minutes that felt way too long, until he finally said, in the quietest voice, "you are so beautiful".

And then I forgot to grab my golf stuff out of his car after he dropped me off at my house.

who would i save, or am i just not brave enough

It makes me so angry when people do not know when the store closes! Honestly. If you feel like coming in and just browsing around, here's a hint: don't come in when there are only five minutes until closing. It was past nine, I was dead tired and feeling sick, yet I had to wait for two guys to get out of the freaking store before finally closing the tills. It's happened so many times, I hate it. I hate people when that happens.

Other than working last night, it was a pretty good day. I woke up at 6:30 in the morning to get to the Calgary Golf and Country Club at 7:45. That place is fancy. I played a really good round (94) and won low net, so I got a sleeve of balls. And I got to see a whole bunch of my golf friends I haven't seen since last year, which rocked. They are so very funny. I can't wait until provincials, when we get to golf and hang out together.

After golfing, I went to my friend's birthday barbecue in Bowness. The food was really good, and my friends are really fun. They make me laugh so hard, I had so much fun! Unfortunately, I had to go early because I got asked to work. And if I worked last night, I didn't have to work on Sunday, which was perfect. I got home and played Rock Band with my siblings. Ballroom Blitz!

(Gavin comes home tomorrow.)

7.03.2008

when you're away, when i am missing you to death

I will be blunt: I miss Gavin a lot. There are only four days until he comes back, and I don't think I am working this weekend, which is strange but kind of good. I will probably be able to golf during the day, then! I want to do all the things I always do with him. However, I can't, and the worst part of all of this is that although he comes back on Sunday, I leave on Monday for another five days.

I've been golfing for the past three days, and it's been good for me. I shot under 100 twice, and today we played best net, so we shot 13 under our handicap. I found someone with a synchronized game, it was really cool! I had a lot of fun. Tomorrow I get to play interclub, which will be sweet but my tee time is at 7:45 so that's not so sweet.

6.08.2008

i went to ninja school to learn how to murder you

I'm exhausted and my head hurts, but right now I have time to blog so I guess that's what I'm going to do. Somebody checked this in France! When I clicked on the URL, it was all translated in French and that was kind of exciting. But anyways.

Technically it is Sunday, but I'm going to pretend that it is actually Saturday. So yesterday (Friday) after school I went to the band party, which really wasn't that exciting because not many people came, and well there wasn't much to do. I got to hang out with Brittany though! That was really funny, we stood by the fire and had conversations that would have to stop because we were laughing too hard. People kept walking by at the wrong moments, like when we were talking about being pregnant to food or whatnot. We took jumping pictures off of a picnic table, and Brittany kept freaking out about how high it was, which made me laugh even more. After a while, Gavin showed up (Brittany: "ooooh, your lover is here! I'm sorry I said that!") and most of the people there decided to play baseball. We went over to talk to Mikki and Megan, and then Gavin got picked on a team and I walked away. Baseball really isn't that fun when you play with a bunch of band people, you know with the non-hitting and stuff. Kate, Brittany and I spent the time talking, and then we decided to go to a playground only to find that some kids were already there. So we headed back to our playground, and played on the teeter totter and went on the swings. Gavin came back from playing baseball, and we tried to climb a tree. Well, we did climb the tree actually. My clothes got really dirty. We hung out with Kate and Brittany some more before finally heading off to go to the movies.

Prince Caspian was really good. Umm I love being with Gavin, I just have to say that. This paragraph is going to be really cheesy and boring. I love holding his hand, and leaning on his shoulder, even when it means that I have to watch the movie sideways. I love when he puts his hand on my leg, because that's where I'm actually really sensitive so my leg had mini spasms the entire time, and I loved that feeling. I don't know why. I love being able to feel his phone vibrate because my hand is on his leg. I love when we lean again each other's heads, and when he whispers funny comments about the movie in my ear.

After the movie ended we headed over to Megan's for movie night. When we got there, we found everyone sitting in the dark. Apparently they sat like that after the first movie ended to wait for us. We watched Indiana Jones. I got to stay until midnight, so I got to watch half of the movie. When we left, everyone all of a sudden had to leave. Gavin drove Adrian and I home. When we got to my house, we hugged in my driveway for a little while, and I gave him a kiss on the cheek and just really, it was a great night.

I woke up at 7:00 this morning, thinking it was a lot later than it actually was and freaking out. My dad and I left at 7:30 and drove all the way up to Golden. I slept a lot on the way, I kept waking up and then falling back to sleep. Today's round was really wonky; I scored 106 but I definitely could have done better, I was doing alright on the front nine and I just totally messed up on the back. There were only four girls, so I won low gross! I've never won low gross before. I used the gift certificate to buy my sister a coat. I also won the skills competition in the girl's division, so I won a sleeve of balls, and nobody got long drive or closest to the pin, so I won a hat by calling Heads. The wait between ending our game and the awards ceremony was a million years, and it was hard to decide which coat to get my sister, so we didn't leave Golden until after 8:00. We stopped at a McDonald's to get a bite to eat, and it seemed like 14-year old boys worked there. After we placed our order they forgot to actually do anything, so we had to wait fifteen minutes to get our food. The people who worked there seemed kind of obnoxious. We finally left Golden at 8:30, and after a while I kept drifting in and out of sleep. I managed to stay awake until 10:25, when I finally crashed and when I rested my eyes I just ended up sleeping. I woke up right when we got into Calgary, and I had to call my younger sister in order to pick her up. We finally got home at midnight.

Well, I'm kind of tired, and I have another tournament to play tomorrow. I'm going to see Islands tomorrow!
